This event hits home for me because Steven’s mom was my cross-country coach at TRN in 1993-4 and I used to babysit for him back in the day. Please try to make it out to support the Sprague/Madden family, they are a fantastic family and little Abigale deserves the best. – Aly
On October 16, 2008 Steven Sprague, age 28, was tragically killed while working the night shift for his construction company on the New Jersey Turnpike. This tragedy has had a tremendous impact upon the entire Toms River Community, but most significantly on Toms River High School East. Steven was a 1998 graduate of High School South. He leaves behind his wife Nicole, who was his high school sweetheart. Nicole is a 4th grade teacher at the Citta School; Steven also leaves behind his beautiful daughter Abigail, who is seven months old. Steven is the son of our former High School East principal Maureen Madden, the stepson of teacher Bruce Madden, brother of fellow teacher Casey Daniel, and the brother to a high school student and athlete on the girls cross country team, Taylor Madden. As the girls cross country team, we would like to begin a new tradition to honor the memory of Steven. Please join us in celebrating the life of Steven through the Second Annual “Steven Sprague Memorial 5k Run/Walk.”
All procedes from this event will be donated to Abigail’s scholarship fund.
