To those of you using the event calendar, there is a great chance you will find a blank calendar if you hit the EVENTS link above.  There is a bug in the system — but I’ve found a way to get to the events.  If  you are at the events page with the calendar layout and go to April, and then go back to March, the events show up. Sorry for the inconvenience…a fix is in the works.  We’re also working on the “Event Listing” pages…we know it’s screwy.  Hope you like the new layout! — Aly

Saturday, March 6th – 1:00-3:00pm – Center Court of the Ocean County Mall.

The Simon Kidgits Club is bringing the magic of reading to life with storytellers, lots of activities and giveaways. This free, family-friendly event is designed to show children just what the fun of reading is all about.

The first 100 Kidgits members to arrive will receive Curious George fun packs, filled with coloring pages, a magic paint palette, stickers and a Curious George Mask. Members of the Kidgits Club will also receive a free Kidgits book.

Curious George himself will also be on-hand to meet and greet his fans!

All kids can enter for a chance to win a great prize.

Families are asked to bring new or gently used books for donation to a local charity.

How fun. Cattus Island has events for the whole family every weekend, and they’re FREE.

Here’s the schedule.
10:30 – 11:00 — Bird Feeding Station
11:00 – 11:30 — Reptile Round-Up
1:30 – 2:00 — Turtle Feeding
2:00 — Nature Walk

Participate in hands-on activities and discover the amazing science that makes circus performances famous. Activities (10:30-4:30) free with museum admission: balancing clowns, balloon art, face painting, paint with centrifugal force, treasure hunt, try tightrope/trapeze equipment, learn juggling techniques, plate spinning.

Museum admission includes choice of one clown or magic performance. Clowns at 11:30, 1:30 and 3:30pm. Magic shows at 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30pm. Presented by the Newark Museum in collaboration with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey The Greatest Show on Earth.
