Here are some ideas:
Create a “Gold Rush” by painting rocks gold or getting some gold coins and throwing them all over the yard (or a local park). Give the kids a small bucket and a leprechaun hat and have them search for gold! We’re doing it at the beach after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday! Guaranteed fun!
Print out some St. Patrick’s Day worksheets from Twisty Noodle, and have them color and practice writing their letters.
Here are other great ideas from a party blog.
Here are some St. Patrick’s Day games. And, here are a few more to choose from. The fun never stops!

I just found another great blog called “Simple Kids, parenting uncomplicated” and I am loving it. They have some guest writers that have great ideas and great articles. Particularly in this difficult time of year, this article was great since we’re force to play inside while the weather is still cold! Check it out here.
What You Need:
Thick pasta noodles (dyed pink and red)
Red, white, and pink foam hearts with holes punched out in the middle (you can buy the hearts at Michaels or use a die cut machine)
Yarn with the edges diped in glue and then dried
What You Do:
Have your children string the noodles and hearts onto the yarn. You can encourage older children to string in a pattern to encourage math skills

Recycle a baby food jar into a Valentine’s candy container. A fun craft for kids to give sweets to their sweet!
What you’ll need:
Baby food jar and lid, washed, rinsed, and dried
Valentine fabric scrap
Low temp glue gun
Pinking shears
Yogurt lid (or similar size)
Pen
Red “Painters” paint markers
Pink “Painters” paint markers
Candy
Painted lid:
Baby food jar and lid, washed, rinsed, and dried
Pink craft paint
Red craft paint
Paintbrush
Red “Painters” paint markers
Pink “Painters” paint markers
Candy
How to make it:
1. Use the paint markers to draw on a few hearts on the side of the jar. You may wish to add a TO/FROM on the jar itself as well. Let dry.
2. If creating the fabric covered lid, then trace around the yogurt lid on the wrong side of the fabric. Cut out with pinking shears.
3. Center the fabric, wrong side down, on the middle of the jar lid. Glue in place on the top and in places on the side of the lid.
4. If creating the painted lid, then paint with pink paint. Let dry. Paint red heart on lid. Let dry.
5. Fill the jar with Valentine candy.
6. Fasten the lid on the jar.
7. Give the candy jar to someone special for Valentines Day.

I’m constantly impressed by this site. Check it out for some fun spider ideas! Click here for art and here for songs!

These are fun and easy! You can mix it up too – if you don’t want to use lollipops, you can use newspaper or anything that you can shape into a ball and tie up. If you want to use them as puppets, great! Or you can make the string longer and tie them up in the trees for the trick or treaters! Click here for details.
