Your preschoolers can have a lot of fun experimenting with straws.
Give each child 2-3 straws and watch what happens.
STRAWS MOVE THINGS
Eventually, your child will discover she can blow air through her straw. Set out some light weight items, such as; poms, packing noodles or ping pong balls. Encourage your child to move the small objects by blowing through her straw.
STRAWS LIFT THINGS
Next, have your child suck on their straw instead of blowing through it. Set out some small squares of paper and have your child try to “lift” the paper by sucking on his straw.
